Six more weeks of winter... so you can find us thinking about this summer at Mile 10! 🎵☀️
As the Mile of Music Festival readies to commemorate its “Mile-stone” 10th festival in August 2023, Appleton Community Music, Inc. a recently formed non-profit organization, is working to help sustain the nationally celebrated event and the vibe it brings to Downtown Appleton for not just another decade, but well into the future.
Appleton Community Music, Inc. (ACM) – is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization founded to provide fundraising support for the four-day summer festival and for other original music experiences throughout the year in Downtown Appleton.
Made up of a 12-member board of directors, ACM’s funding focuses on the following areas:
🎵Performance fees for the over 200 acts that play the festival
🎵Artist hospitality, including lodging and meals over the four days
🎵Artist care, including supporting and promoting the dental, wellness and personal care initiative offered during the Mile of Music festival, which has drawn accolades from the national music community
🥁Music Education at the Festival, which includes interactive music-making experiences for participants of all ages while focusing on building inclusion, diversity and community through music
🫶Supporting Mile volunteers, including coordination assistance for the 500-plus festival helpers
Kicking off Appleton Community Music’s 2023 fundraising effort is a $50,000 gift from the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region /David L. and Rita E. Nelson Family Fund, which also provided the same catalyst funding to support the artists at last August’s Mile 9.

About Gyasi: Pronounced Jah-see, Gyasi seems in many ways to come from another planet, and being raised in the woods of a West Virginia holler might as well be another planet in this day and age. His parents bought him a guitar at a local flea market when he was six years old and he still hasn’t gotten rid of the fleas, or the guitar. He approaches his music as an all-encompassing art piece, using fashion, storytelling, and his guitar to create a world for his music. His debut full length vinyl is out now on Alive Records. Inspired by a wide range of art and culture both past and present, his work is fueled by an undeniable passion to create music that brings rock n roll into the 21st century. Gyasi is a modern rock star like no other.

Mile of Music Presents won't be hosting a Rhythms & Brews show tomorrow (November 23), but we wanted to share a special event taking place tomorrow night at Turner Hall Ballroom in Milwaukee to honor Mile of Music alumni Keith Pulvermacher.
Keith Pulvermacher lost his battle with Multiple Myeloma (a cancer of plasma cells) on July 30, 2022. Keith touched many lives in the music community, including many in the Mile community.
Check out the full details on the event & ways to support below!
Hey all! While we won't be holding Rhythms & Brews on November 23 to give our team some extra time off for the holiday, we wanted to share a special event that's near and dear to the hearts of many members of the Mile Family.
As some of you may know, Mile 7/Mile Presents alumni Keith Pulvermacher lost his battle with Multiple Myeloma (a cancer of plasma cells) on July 30, 2022. Keith touched many lives in the music community.
On November 23 at Turner Hall Ballroom in Milwaukee, the Keith Pulvermacher Band & many friends will host "For Keith: Keep On Keepin' On," where the Keith Pulvermacher Band will perform his latest album "45 Story" in its entirety.
All proceeds for the event will go to the Isabella and Sophia Pulvermacher Future Fund, a trust set up for Keith's daughters.
Full information on the event and how to support can be found here: https://www.pabsttheatergroup.com/events/detail/for-keith-2022
(Mile of Music is not a producer of this event, but we wanted to share for fans of Keith who would like to support the cause.)
Mile of Music is a proud partner of Flannel Fest, and we're thrilled to know this year's event will have a great impact on those in need in the State of Wisconsin! Thanks to all who supported the event. 😀

Thank you for the incredible response to our Mile 10 (2023) New Artist Submission Form. We are sorry to share that the submission process for new artists to be considered for Mile 10 has already reached (and exceeded) the maximum, so we have closed the submission portal. To say that we are humbled by this overwhelming response from potential new artists would be an understatement. A bit stunned might be a more apt description as this is, by far, the biggest response we have had for the open submission process since Mile of Music started in 2013.
Thanks to all the artists that submitted and to fans who encouraged their favorites artists and friends to submit.
If you did not get a chance to submit, we hope you'll stay tuned for our Mile 11 (2024) New Artist Submission form, which will launch on November 1, 2023.
THANK YOU!
