That moment when the blank white canvas feels too perfect to touch 😬.

I get stuck there more often than I’d like to admit.

So here’s what helps me:
• recycled cardboard
• underpainting
• old canvases I never finished

Anything to break the spell of “perfect” and give myself permission to just…start!!!

If you’ve been frozen in front of a blank "perfect" surface, this is your sign to mess it up on purpose. 🎨✨

Good luck and happy creating!

This watercolor was painted with so much love in honor of my mother-n-law Kay. Kay’s March birth flowers felt like the perfect way to honor who she was — a wonderful mother, grandmother, friend, and a steady, loving presence to everyone lucky enough to know her. Every petal felt meaningful as I painted it, thinking about her kindness, her strength, and the way she showed up for her family.

Creating this piece for my sister-in-law was truly an honor, and one of those moments where art becomes more than just paint on paper.

Forever grateful for the chance to turn love and memory into something lasting.

This watercolor was painted for a very special person and a family that means so much to me and to ours.
I chose to paint the birth flowers of May in honor of a man who was deeply loved, endlessly kind, and so very special. His presence, his heart, and the love he poured into his family will always be felt.

This piece was created as a quiet remembrance — a way to hold onto beauty, meaning, and love when words feel too small. To paint something like this is always an honor, but even more so when it’s for people who have been woven into our lives and our hearts.

Art has a way of saying what we sometimes can’t — and I hope this painting carries a little comfort, a little light, and a lot of love.

Some milestones deserve to be held onto a little tighter.

This Christmas, I gifted my son a watercolor of his very first home. At just 20, he took a step that required courage, discipline, and a whole lot of heart.

Watching him work hard as a diesel mechanic while loving what he does and learning and growing through his education has been a quiet joy to witness.

I wanted to mark this moment with something lasting—something that says this mattered. A home is more than walls and a roof; it’s the beginning of so many stories.

Creating pieces like this is one of my favorite parts of what I do. Painting homes, places, and moments that carry meaning—and turning them into keepsakes that celebrate life’s milestones—is such an honor.

If you’re looking to commemorate a first home, a family place, or a moment worth remembering, I’d love to create something just for you.

The sky felt heavy and quiet—snow below, clouds above, all the same icy blue.

And then, an opening.

Golden light spilling through, like heaven breaking through the cold.

A reminder that warmth still exists, even in the stillness.

Lines that wander.
Colors with intention.
Abstractions that invite interpretation.
Movement, mess, and meaning in the in-between.
Watercolor tangles, finding form as they flow.

I hope you enjoy exploring these as much as I enjoyed creating them!

"It's not that unusual when everything is beautiful..."

Everyday moments. Simple things. A vintage truck, a flower, a butterfly. Each one holds a quiet kind of magic — a reminder that beauty is all around us, waiting to be seen.

These watercolor pieces are my way of capturing the ordinary miracles that make life feel extraordinary. I hope you enjoy them!

Life outside my studio looks a little different this time of year — wide open skies, golden fields, and the steady hum of a combine in the distance. It’s a rhythm that pulls you in and slows you down.

There’s just something about fall in the country. The sun hangs a little lower, the air turns crisp, and the scent of drying corn fills the breeze. It’s the kind of season that settles deep in your soul — rich with color, quiet, and memory.

We don’t farm for a living, but my husband helps my uncle pick corn every year — and he absolutely loves it. 🌽 Watching him in the combine, steady and content, feels like a glimpse into something timeless.

This season brings back so many feelings — childhood memories, family ties, and a deep appreciation for the simple, grounding rhythm of harvest. It’s inspiring, in the way that only the heartland can be. 💛

Yes, it's another sunset — and no, I’m not sorry.
The sky never repeats itself. Every evening is a new painting, a new mood, a new kind of quiet.

There’s something about October light… softer, slower, like the sky knows the season is shifting.

Sunsets remind me to let go — of control, of rushing, of needing everything to stay the same.

Change is always happening, but there’s peace in learning to love what’s right in front of you while it lasts.

I’ll keep posting sunsets because they remind me that change can be beautiful, and no two moments are ever the same.

La Sagrada Família left me speechless — not just for its architecture, but for how color completely transforms the mood.

On one side: cool blues and greens wash over the space like a deep breath — peaceful, introspective, almost dreamlike. 💙
On the other: warm ambers and fiery reds wrap you in light and energy — vibrant, passionate, alive. 🔥

As an artist, it was a powerful reminder of how color alone can shift how we feel in a space.

Which side speaks to you more — the calm or the fire?

Caught between earth and sky 🌿☀️
Golden hour kissed the ground and lit up the world — even the tiniest blades of grass got their moment to shine. Nature never whispers, it radiates.
