“You give other people accommodation before evidence. You give yourself accommodation after exhaustion.”
Read that again. Why is our own physical collapse the only metric we accept as proof that we're allowed to stop?
If a friend tells you they're overwhelmed, you don't demand proof. You tell them to drop everything and rest. You accommodate their neurodivergence and their low-energy days before asking for evidence.
But for yourself? You demand a full-blown migraine, a severe mental freeze, or a body-level shutdown before you believe you've "earned" a break. You are paying an invisible tax of constant self-justification.
You don't need a medical certificate or a completed to-do list to merit 5 minutes of quiet. Grace is not a performance-based reward.
What is one tiny accommodation you can give yourself today, *before* your body has to force you to?
Save this post to remind yourself that you are allowed to choose softness long before you hit empty.
