I have been very fortunate over the last few years to be able to travel and race NHRA drag racing. We have been on a three week journey that started in Brainerd Minnesota and then to Norwalk Ohio at the COPO shootout and ended up this last week at the biggest event of the season. The US Nationals in Indianapolis Indiana. We were fortunate enough to Win the Class Race in Super Stock and runner up in Stock. Then last night I made the biggest mistake of my racing career. It was a very long day that started at 6:00am. It was 11:00 pm when I won the fourth round in Stock. It was dark, I was excited and very tired. I had made it to the final 8 cars out of 150 that showed up to qualify. After I picked up my winning time slip I got my flashlight out just to see what had happened. I then proceeded to drive right past the scale by accident and proceeded to my pit. I immediately realized my mistake and ran back to the scale to get the news that I was disqualified from the event for missing the scales.... I will leave it at that. I am gut punched today but I will get over it.-Jay
