Some of you know this about me, that I recently relocated back to New Hampshire after five years in Alaska.
A couple weeks ago I shared the art I created during this first hike home. While up on the mountain we had a little fun with a few questions asked of me that grew quite organically out of this beautiful evening with friends.
Here's one of them with my response (no editing).
What you might not know about me is that I am a forest and mountain girl. Always have been since the first time I was in them.
What I remember: I was super young, motoring over hilly roads in Vermont, dusk light, tall dark evergreens. Could've been my first time out of the city, which is the habitat I grew up.
It's a very strong memory, although a bit like peering through sheer curtains. Some of it seems lost to time.
The feeling, though. That's as clear a part of me now as it was when it first hit me those decades ago.
