“How does SonoFlex compare to the DPA 4099?”
We’ve rounded up real-world tests from two sax educators: William of Dr. Sax in Taiwan, and Jamie of Get Your Sax Together in the UK.

🎷 Sound: In a blind test, Jamie found the two hard to tell apart. William heard SonoFlex as brighter and more cutting, and preferred the DPA’s midrange. They hear it differently, so listen for yourself.
🔒 Mounting: Both found the SonoFlex twist-lock fast to attach. In Jamie’s shake test, it didn’t move a centimeter.
🔌 Wireless: SonoFlex uses a 3.5mm connector, and a 2-wire/3-wire switch on the base matches the wiring design of different wireless systems.

Some wind instruments are transposing instruments. The note on the page and the note you hear are not the same.

On an E♭ alto sax, a written F comes out as A♭.

We learned this the hard way. Asked for a note, looked at the tuner, and spent a while wondering what went wrong.
