Creative Avenue NW

Creative Avenue NW Creative Avenue creates markets, retreats, and gatherings designed to bring people together.

Focused on connection, creativity, and meaningful experiences for artists, makers, and the community. Creative Avenue began as a way to bring artists and community together through curated markets, and that heart is still at the center of everything we do. After closing our storefront at The Creative Hub & Coffeehouse in 2025, we returned to those roots while also expanding into new ways of gathering. Today, Creative Avenue focuses on thoughtfully curated makers markets, creative retreats, and community-centered experiences across Skagit Valley and beyond. Our goal has always been simple: create spaces where people can connect, discover meaningful goods, and feel part of something. You’ll see us hosting events like Summer MakersFest, Creative Reset Weekends, and other collaborations throughout the year.

This week came up so fast! I'm excited to kick off the branding workshops this Friday, starting with finding the core of your brand (always a good place to start).

If you've ever tried to explain your business and you just kinda fumble through explaining it, that's what we're digging into first. Why you started this in the first place - helps you build your branding up from there!

Thirty minutes, five bucks, live on Zoom at noon (PST).

Hope to see you there!

So grateful for the breakfast meetings at !

I was terrible at taking photos this morning, but really appreciated who was the presenter this morning. I got to chat with her a little before the presentation started and loved talking about cats and enneagram numbers 😻

It's such a wonderful place to "network" but not in the way most people think. There are no business cards exchanged - it's all about connection. Conversations are always rich and everyone I've met so far are lovely.

Looking forward to Heather's presentation in October for the next breakfast club! Thank you for creating such a fabulous place for women!

I'm so grateful for these two Lisas.

Earlier this year, Lisa Rhoades (on the right) and I made a plan for her to retire from running the 98221 Studio Tour and train me to take it over starting in 2027. She built this tour from scratch ten years ago, and watching it grow into what it is now has been inspiring. I can't wait to see it in full swing this weekend! I feel so lucky she's sticking around to keep guiding me through the process, while also giving me room to bring my own event planning experience into it.

Lisa Downing (in the middle) has been the rockstar behind the tour's social media for this last year. We're also in a creative book club together, so I get to keep spending plenty of time with her too. We get to geek out about books, morning pages, making art and so much more every time we get together.

If you're local to Anacortes, or close enough to make the drive, come check out the tour this weekend.

Wander through home studios, meet the artists, watch them work and see their process and tools. Grab a bite downtown while you're at it, whether you're stopping by for the day or turning it into a full weekend.

📍 98221, Anacortes
🕒 Saturday & Sunday, September 12th & 13th, 10AM-5PM

Check out the artists on the tour here: https://anacortesstudiotour.com/artists/

Grab a physical map of the studios at Clayhouse or Scott Milo Gallery downtown... or download a digital map here: https://anacortesstudiotour.com/map/

You'll get a stamp card to use along your tour - each studio will give you a new stamp and you can turn it in at the end for a chance to win a prize basket! See you around town!

Attempting to get into a routine after a long and amazing weekend. Here's the rewind.

A relaxing hike around Whistle Lake.

The best live music and art at Bumbershoot in Seattle, plus fashion shows, amazing art, and delicious food (ate amazing pulled pork from a vendor at the festival, and of course had to grab a dicks burger before we came home).
Side note: Did you know that it's name is an old fashioned word for umbrella? They named it because it was created as an umbrella to encompass a wide variety of art and creativity ❤️

I was not great at taking pictures this weekend as I was enjoying all of the moments. It included an amazing dinner at a friend's house in Anacortes with great company and conversation. Lots of down time reading, spray painting pumpkins I got from the thrift store, cleaning, and doing research on grants (always so fun, right?).

Plus, kitties always get a lot of attention every day. Odie has found a new spot in the weeds to take his afternoon nap 🤣

Today I'll be trying to get caught up on computer work and getting ready for piano lessons and starting new students this week!

How was your Labor day weekend?
