The other day, I met Rinda and asked, “What does kindness mean to you?”

Today, I met Sara at an event hosted by PickPT, and I asked her what kindness meant to her. Her response really struck me.

She said:

“Kindness is being careful in how we communicate with each other, while still being genuinely honest and true to yourself.”

What a beautiful reminder that kindness doesn’t mean hiding the truth or pretending to be someone we’re not. It means choosing our words carefully, speaking with honesty, and treating others with respect.

Kindness and authenticity can go hand in hand.

On Thursday, I stopped by the store to do my usual act of kindness; buying chocolates and flowers for a cashier.

When I walked in, I asked the manager who he thought might need a little kindness that day. He immediately mentioned one of his cashiers who was having a particularly difficult day and could use some encouragement.

I was touched by the manager’s awareness of and concern for his employee. It reminded me how important it is to notice the people around us. Sometimes, a simple act of kindness can make a difficult day a little brighter.

May we all take the time to look around, notice those who may be struggling, and be willing to do something to lift them up.

And come with your tissues on Sunday. 🥹 I usually post a new video on Sundays, and you definitely don’t want to miss this one.

Yesterday, I met Evelyn at the store while I was picking up some paint supplies. As I often do, I asked her a simple question:

What does kindness mean to you?

Her response was thoughtful and a beautiful reminder that kindness doesn’t always have to be something big or extraordinary.

Evelyn said:

“Kindness is doing things for people that make their lives easier. I try to do extra things to make my manager’s life easier. They go through a lot, and the little things I do can help lighten their load.”

What a powerful perspective.

Sometimes, kindness is simply noticing that someone is carrying a heavy load and finding a small way to make it a little lighter.
