Do you ever want to save every version of something you’re creating?

I struggle with this sometimes. I’ll make a layer I love and immediately want to stop and photograph it because I’m afraid I’ll lose it if I keep going.

But sometimes that layer was only meant to be temporary. It did its job. It became part of the process, and then it was time to let it go and keep creating.

What’s harder for you: letting go of something you love, or trusting what comes next?

Not sure what to make? Sometimes the best place to start is simply to begin.

In this Gelli plate printing experiment, I’m layering paint, pattern, and texture onto salvaged brown paper and letting curiosity guide the creative process. I’m not trying to create a perfect Gelli print or control the outcome. I’m exploring how the colors, textures, and materials respond to one another and seeing where they take me.

For me, this is where intuitive art and mindful creativity meet: being present with the process, experimenting, and allowing something unexpected to emerge.

You don’t always need a plan for your art. Start somewhere. Make a mark. See what happens next.

What happens when curiosity makes you take an art supply apart?

I opened up one of my old alcohol markers and discovered something I wasn’t expecting. Instead of seeing a dried-out marker as something to throw away, I started wondering what else the material inside could become.

This is the joy of creating for me. You experiment, you notice, and sometimes you discover possibilities you never planned.
