I am slowly getting back into the studio after vacation. Really excited that most of the red rose center is done and happy with how it is turning out. Will post that next week. Till then some more botanical art from the past. Have a wonderful weekend.

I have always loved visiting museums, since I was a little child - to get the opportunity to look, study, and enjoy these great works is beyond compare to me. Something I am always truly grateful for. We had a wonderful time visiting the Joslyn Art Museum in Omaha, Nebraska. An absolutely beautiful museum with a wonderful collection. My heart is full and happy.

A quick pen and ink sketch of a bolete mushroom. I hadn’t done stippling in a while so it was fun to get back into it and try to capture its spongy underside and the tiny details of the forest floor.

Some botanical art that I have done in different mediums. I miss working in colored pencil and watercolor but I am excited to be getting back into these mediums soon along side my oils (will post more on this later in the month).

Some beautiful water lilies to brighten your day: Blue Lotus/Blue Water Lily (this flower is my namesake) alongside the intense, saturated punch of a Fuchsia Water Lily hybrid. I just really love these flowers. Nature really does the heavy lifting when it comes to composition 🪷
