So we stopped at Cadillac Ranch a few weeks ago on the WINDIEST AND COLDEST DAY POSSIBLE. 😂🤣

Despite that, it was still pretty cool. It’s been a roadside attraction we’ve passed a couple times and finally decided to stop.

It’s funny, because I was also taken a little aback and I was happy to see post about this as well.

There was garbage EVERYWHERE. This being a place that doesn’t seem to have much in the way of management, it’s sort of just left for the masses to decide how to treat it.

Welp, the masses failed here, guys. Plastic bags, spray cans, silly string and of course waste from the highway. It was gross. And disappointing.

Like, we can’t walk a few feet to a trash can? We can’t bring it back to our cars until we hit a gas station and throw it away? This is s**t I used to pull as a teenager. But grown ass adults are leaving their garbage on the side of the road.

So yeah, obviously it bothered me. And it’s one of my pet peeves. So I’m choosing to bitch about it here bc maybe someone will listen. But then again, maybe not. And that’s cool, too. All is as it is, but I hope I might have given at least one person pause before leaving their empty spray paint can behind at Cadillac Ranch.

Welp, Roswell was about as kitschy as we could have imagined… BUT WE FREAKIN LOVED IT!

I’d like to think we’re pretty down to earth (get it??), but we’re known to wear a foil hat every now and again. And THIS is the Mecca of foil hats!

We loved the UFO museum, along with all the great UFO-themed buildings and businesses around town.

And of course our trip couldn’t have been complete without a trip to the Flying Saucer McDonalds. The kids were especially stoked about that one. 🤣

Have you been to Roswell? Was it what you expected?

PS I’m like a month behind here, maybe more. I’ll catch up one of these days. 😅

I will never be a successful influencer.

I love social media breaks a little much. 💁🏻‍♀️

I’ve been somewhat absent from social media these past weeks. In and out really.

If you follow my stories you know we’ve done a load of traveling the past month. We’ve seen so many wonderful friends, went to beautiful places, rode a load of coasters and have put A LOT of miles on our truck.

I know I will post about all of that in due time, but i might need a little more hibernation first.

It’s important for me to break from social media every now and again. To take the time to be in my present moment with what is right in front of me.

It’s easy for me to get lost in this space and start engaging in some FOMO, some comparison, and then ultimately a completely self centered negative space as soon as I tap that little pink square.

As soon as I see that coming, Insta is off. I use this space to spread positivity. I love to show our experiences on the road and celebrate the fact that sobriety is possible not only stationary, but nomadically too!

So the minute I start feeling the Insta yuckies come upon me, I take a step back. I take time over the next few days, weeks, whatever and try to focus my intention on service and love. This always brings me back to center. Hence the pic with my main man, st Francis. Im not religious, but this guy has been known to promote a little love and service in his day and I’m here for it.

Do you get the social media yuckies? What do you do to counteract them?

Serious question, guys…

Beignets or boardwalk funnel cake??

Café du Monde’s beignets were absolutely delightful according to the fam- but (unpopular opinion with my NOLA folks) but the kids were low key like “I’d rather have a funnel cake…” 😬🤷🏻‍♀️

Maybe we are just hopelessly east coasters… 😂🤣

But I digress because I want to stress just how much we LOVED NOLA!! There is a vibe here, you guys. Like an awesome, beautiful vibe. There is so much history, filled with darkness and light, and you can tell how much the city is connected to it. You can feel magic in the streets.

We were hoping to catch a Mardi Gras parade but our days there were cold and short so we didn’t get the ample amount of time to explore that we wanted. But that just means we’ll be heading back someday for some deeper dives into the history of the place.

Have been to NOLA? And better yet, how did you like the beignets??

And THIS is what it’s all about you guys.

If you don’t know, my girl here is obsessed with horses. OBSESSED. So it experiences like these that make this travel life worth it.

When we were staying at our friends horse farm in Reddick, FL, we found out that we happened to be minutes away from the World Equestrian Center and that it happened to be the Equestrian Grand Prix!

What is that, you ask? I honestly had no clue either until this event. 😂

It is when the cream of the crop, the Olympians, the champions all come together to compete in an intense jump course.

It was a fantastic event to watch! The athletic ability of the horses and riders is so freakin impressive!

But the best part?? Watching my daughter revel in the magic of it.

This is why I travel. This is why I stay sober while I do it. For the experiences and the ability to be absolutely present for each one. I can fully immerse myself in the moment of joy in the kids’ faces. Things like this were a distant dream years ago- and now they’re my reality.

Have you ever been to an advanced equestrian competition? What did you think??

Understand this: I am here on borrowed time.

The way I was living 16 years ago today, I should not be alive. This life that I am living here? NOTHING short of a miracle.

February is huge month for me. 16 years ago today, I was still in the pit of an existence for which I didn’t think I could escape. I had lost hope. There was no use fighting for tomorrow.

I am forever thankful for the events that transpired over the course of the next few weeks that gave me a chance at something different because quite honestly, it was my last chance.

I tell this to you because I want you to know that a life of freedom, joy and endless possibilities is always available to you. My crazy life of RVs and rollers coasters, as a mom and wife was NOT a possibility in my addiction- but breaking the chains IS possible.

This month I will be focusing on the things that have helped and still do help me in my daily life to stay sober and in alignment with my spiritual center. I will throw in some of our adventures as well- but this is my truth and I will gladly share it as I approach my sober anniversary.

And as always, please reach out if you’re feeling like sobriety might be something you’d like to venture into!

The theming at Dollywood is one of a kind. I mean, it’s themed around Dolly so can you really go wrong?!

Theres a lot to experience here outside of coasters: the recreation of Dolly’s childhood home and her schoolhouse, the Grist Mill with its famous cinnamon bread, the country shows, glassblowing, blacksmiths, and on and on and on!

We’re kind of theming nerds on top being coaster nerds, so bear with us as we geek out on this stuff!

Are you into theming or is all about the rides?!

Spots of beauty are better with friends.

Rock Springs at Kelly Park was a dreamy place. But what made it even dreamier was going with some of our besties . The water was gorgeous and the kids had a blast.

This is the sort of day that brings me so much gratitude.

STRONG OPINION: Dollywood is top 3 on the parks with best woodies in our book!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I guess we’re not alone because Thunderhead won the Golden Ticket award for Best Wooden Coaster in both 2005 and 2006.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
All four of us ventured on this one multiple times. Our favorite feature of this coaster is the mayhemic pace it maintains throughout its layout, beginning with the traditional GCI curved first drop. It seemingly never loses steam throughout the entire 3,233 feet of track!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It’s been two years and the kids still rave about it. Definitely up there in our Dollywood experience!

My kid drove a monster truck!! I just about had a heart attack- but he actually did a great job!

That was just one of many surprises for Showcase of Citrus had in store for us last week! I honestly had no idea what we were in store for. We had heard about it for a couple years from a few friends and decided to give it a go. It was fantastic! 💫

First off, they are a no waste facility. Everything that they produce, they use. The orange peels, the animal waste, all of it! They even use the animal waste from Disney’s Animal Kingdom to fertilize their crops!

Secondly, there’s so much to see and do:
🍊 you-pick
🍊 Monster truck tour
🍊Animals
🍊 Play areas
🍊 Food trucks
🍊A plethora of local honey, fruits, hot sauces, crafts, etc
🍊 Really weird-flavored sodas. My kids were fascinated! 😂

All in all guys, we got a lot more than we had expected. Stop by the next time you’re in the Orlando area!

We’re not sad to say goodbye to this tight spot!

RV life has it ups but man, sometimes you get somewhere and think about how much you miss having a yard. 😂

It’s all good though! At least there was free cable! 💁🏻‍♀️ And soon we will be out west where the BLM is abundant and the beauty of the desert will be our chosen yard for the day!

This life reminds me all things are temporary, even our physical surroundings- so if I’m not particularly psyched about my current situation, i can always find a silver lining and know there’s beauty coming right around the corner. 💫
