Hello friends, fam, and everyone in between!

I'm the little worker bee behind Happy Day Creative Studio!

Many of you already know me, but for the new kids 'round here, I wanted to introduce myself:

My name is Sarah Ashby. I'm a 30-something artist and children's book author native to Altoona, IA. I'm also Autistic + ADHD, and live with chronic illnesses that have left me legally disabled. These things don't fully define me, but they are a big part of who I am, so I wanted to share them with you!

Aside from being Neurodivergent and a slight medical enigma, I'm also an aunt to 3 amazing kiddos who help keep my inner child alive and thriving!
There's something insanely special about being a "best friend" and safe person to a little one. It's seriously THE BEST!

When I'm not writing, making art, or spending time with friends/family, I love camping, finding a good thrift, cuddling with my two kitties (who I'll fully introduce in a later post), and helping other Neurodivergent and/or disabled Iowans navigate life and get the services + supports they need!

My goal for this page and my art is to bring a little whimsy and joy back into the world, because being an adult can be HARD sometimes.

So, when life starts to feel a bit dark, remember that
