my performance of On My Own for the final callback of the Spotlight Competition ♥️ thank you to the Hollywood Bowl and the Los Angeles Philharmonic for their consideration. i didn’t even think they’d see my video, let alone let me sing for them! i got to do this callback the day before my grandmother’s birthday, which felt funny and special. it’s been five years since her passing, and it never gets easier. this is for you, gram. i miss you every single day, i hope i made you proud.

I AM SO SO EXCITED! Thank you to the Hollywood Bowl and Los Angeles Philharmonic for their consideration. I have loved Les Mis from the second I heard it when I was twelve, this is a total pinch me moment. Even just getting the callback was a dream come true. Thanks for watching! ♥️💙

Fun fact: I used to be scared of the dark, so every night while I was in high school, I would fall asleep to the 25th Anniversary Les Mis DVD. I memorized the entire show by the time I graduated, and I’m no longer scared of the dark! This is one of my favorite songs from the show, and when I heard there was a contest to perform at the Hollywood Bowl and the requirement is that you sing a song from Les Misérables, my heart skipped a beat (because I truly don’t think I’ve heard anything more me-coded in my entire life). Here’s On My Own, my submission for the Spotlight Contest for Broadway at the Bowl!

One of my favorite songs from Waitress that was cut (and eventually transformed into What Baking Can Do)! I revisit this every so often and still have it in my book. Which version do you love? 🥧 💙
