It's time to talk about the Velociraptor! This dinosaur is one of the most iconic dinos in movies.

One of the earliest dinosaurs, Herrerasaurus was a bipedal (walked on two limbs) predator with a long and stiffened tail, three main fingers, and sharp, serrated teeth.
Its flexile lower jaw helped it to grasp prey. Its long legs and hollow bones suggest it was a fast runner. Bite marks on the skulls of these animals show that they often battled one another, presumably over food or mates. This rare dinosaur was discovered in 1991 in the Ischigualasto Formation of Argentina.

The Archaeopteryx is the oldest known bird. It was found in lagoon sediments in Germany in 1864, its discovery showed that birds lived at the time of the dinosaurs.
Archaeopteryx was raven-sized, and besides having feathers, wings, and air-filled bones like modern birds, it also had sharp teeth, clawed hands, and a bony tail.

Approximately 10 million years ago, Laurasia (North America, Europe, and Asia) had completely split from South America and its adjoining Gondwana continents (Africa, Antarctica, and Australia).
These dinosaurs 'down south' began evolving independently from their northern relatives, leading to bizarre new types found only on Gondwana. One of the strangest is the large, long-necked sauropod Amargasuurs, which sports a huge display crest on its neck.
