The next meeting of NEMAG is 8/26/2026 at the Harrisville Library. Please plan to arrive between 10 and 10:30 AM and place your work in the conference room for consideration in the Creative Eye Juried Show. You may bring up to 3 pieces for $15.00. The slated Juror is Valerie Allen. Please remember to not submit piece previously hung in the library or any you may wish to hang in the future.

Get out your calendar for 2027! Our theme for the Besser Museum show will be "Flora and Fauna" and in 2028, the theme will be "Postcards Home"

If anyone is interested, Brian Schorn has many interesting items he'd like to share with NEMAG members. Shopping for free is open Thursday, Aug. 6, from 2 to 4 pm at Lost Lake Woods Club in the auditorium. Help Brian get rid of some of his stuff!

Join us for the Opening Reception for three art exhibits at the Besser Museum on Saturday August 8 from 2 to 4 pm, featuring the 2026 Juried Art Exhibition, Macrame by Lynsie Dietz and the Solo Exhibit for Nina Gee - the 2025 Juried Art Best of Show Winner.

Meet the artists, enjoy refreshments, and stay for the awarding of the Juried Exhibit prizes!

Open to the public - everyone is welcome. Free admission for artists, family, and friends!

The Thunder Bay Art Gallery has decided to make NEMAG the "artist of the month" for September-October. They will put up our artwork for sale on Sept. 1. Please note: artwork has to be delivered to the gallery only between 10am and noon on the 1st. Please contact NEMAG if you have questions or to register your piece for the upcoming show and sale.

Richard Jordon, representing Inspiration Alcona, will be teaching an "Open Air" painting class in Island Park in Alpena, MI. The class will meet at the museum 8/19-8/21. While Richard paints in oils, other mediums are welcome. The cost is $275.

Our annual juried show The Creative Eye at the Harrisville Library occurs on 8/26-10/19. Members can pay $15 to bring up to 3 pieces. The juror is Valerie Allen. The art selected will be put up after our meeting. Take down is Monday, October 19th so be sure to make a note for yourself.

Wonderful opportuity! Members-Only workshop with Brian Schorn 8/4-6 at the Lost Lake Woods Club. The subject will be collage and wabi-sabi. Charge is $150. Maximum 10 people. There is still room. We'll be meeting in the Bears Den. Class time is 9-4. Brian has lots of material we can use. If you want to stay at the lodge call 989-736-8197

Members! Add the Picnic and Art Swap to your calendar on 7/29, Lost Lake Woods Club at 10:30am in the pavilion. Bring a dish to pass or your own food, drink and your table service. After lunch and a meeting where we will choose the topic of next year’s museum exhibit (send your ideas to Karen), we will hold the art swap. Bring gently used art supplies you no longer need. If there are materials left, whoever brought them must take them back!
