🥀🕯We are almost to the end of May, which means it is almost the end of Anne Boleyn Month. But the end of the month doesn't mean we need to stop remembering and learning.
In this episode, I do a hidden library review of three Claire Ridgway books that I think are not only good to start out with in learning about Anne and her brother George as they are not only good reads but also very well researched.
Claire also has a YouTube Channel where she talks all things Tudor History (as well as historical trivia of other eras).

her books can be found on Amazon:

FOR THIS EPISODE I'M POSTING THE FULL EPISODE EVERYWHERE. BUT OTHERWISE MY PODCASTS ARE AVAILABLE ON YOUTUBE, SUBSTACK (Bonfires & Castles), BUZZSPROUT, SPOTIFY, APPLE, AND IHEARTRADIO

🖤For Memorial Day. As we remember those that gave the ultimate sacrifice here in the states, I give this recording of the very haunting The Wind that Shakes the Barley.
Recorded this last May and re-releasing it each Memorial Day.
Enjoy, reflect, and remember🖤💚

🖤Some stills from the music video of my song "Dreams of a Mad King", part of which was filmed at the awesome haunted attraction@thecastleblood

While my song "Rise of the Falcon" is about the final moments of Anne Boleyn, "Dreams of a Mad King" is about King Henry VIII and his final moments.
"Dreams" is inspired by scenes in the final season of The Tudors when Henry is being forced to face many of his actions and decisions in his life (which included being visited by the ghosts of Katherine of Aragon, Anne Boleyn and Jane Seymour), along with some contemporary accounts of his final days.
The two songs are vastly different. While "Rise of the Falcon" is a rather melancholy song, it does call in a sense of strength and even some resolve at the end.
"Dreams", however, is more of a song of foreboding. What will happen once Henry leaves the land of the living, and England once he crosses over?

"Dreams of a Mad King" is available on YouTube (🔗 in bio and stories on IG and Comments on FB)

Thank you for listening🖤🕯

🥀BECAUSE MAY IS ANNE BOLEYN MONTH IN MANY TUDOR HISTORY CIRCLES🥀
🌲Here is a live performance of my song Rise of the Falcon performed back in December (hence the Christmas tree in the background) at the Night of the Giving Dead event ar QXT'S Nightclub in Newark, NJ.

🖤🌲FULL VIDEO ON YT (stories on IG or comments on FB)

🖤🌲Rise of the Falcon is a song dedicated to Queen Anne, her brother George Boleyn and the four other men executed with them on May 17 and 19 in the year 1536.
The title is inspired by the Boleyn Falcon crest and in the song I use the phrase "the time will come", which is something Anne wrote in her Book of Hours.
The album version of the song will include excerpts from the final speeches of Anne and George. Until then, I hope you enjoy this piano and voice version with some visuals!
