Often regarded as the "dance of war", this unorthodox fighting art is the product of the African slaves of Brazil and their longing for freedom. Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian movement art that combines martial arts, dance, and music into a fun game for everyone to join! At GVSU Capoeira Club, we believe that through our art form, we are able to inspire our community to be open-minded and educated
in culture, fitness, and self-expression. Capoeira empowers people to explore their hidden talents and enhance their physical abilities, all while giving them an outlet to be themselves and achieving a sense of identity as an individual. Practice times/locations
