The series FOUR SEASON, the painting UNMASKED, and the stained glass piece of a koi. The koi is sandblasted and painted on the reverse side resulting in the fish disappearing as the sun goes down. An unexpected and happy surprise.

These are from the same sunset in the same location. The time change is about an hour. In the beginning the colors were almost monochromatic. The umbers changed to more yellow, then the oranges, then the reds and purples. As the sunset”progressed” more humans gathered. The kids were doing handstands and cartwheels. It became so crowded that it was difficult to get a reference shot without people. People are truly drawn to sunsets.

These images speak to my imagination. I see the sea coming ashore disguised as a long undulating snake and covering shells with clouds that seem to have fallen from the sky. I wonder at the shells, each having its own untold broken story.

Beautiful and deadly. After a great day of visiting the Ringling Museum, walking around St. Armonds, having a fantastic Mediterranean dinner in Venice, Ihor and I decided to watch the sunset on a rocky beach. Unfortunately red tide was strong and we both suffered the consequences. Burning eyes, coughing, sore throat, runny nose. Now we are home sipping cognac.

I wish I could get this straightened out. My original Facebook friends page is completely gone. I have been hacked, chopped up into little pieces and spit out. Facebook “help” is no help. Maddening!! Oh, this is Siesta Key today when I went to check on the red tide.

Today’s doodle. What are these things I call doodles? I could call it a musing, pondering, reflection, reverie, contemplation… today I was thinking about the unusual and various sea critters that have washed up on the beach with the red tide. It is disturbing.

My beautiful sweet baby girl dog, Raven crossed the Rainbow Bridge today. 12/10/04-6/24/21. She’s been going downhill….but it still cuts my heart.

I am staying in Nokomis, Florida, for awhile…possibly the entire summer. The house where I am staying belongs to a wonderful woman I have known for 48 years. She is using her summer on her own adventures across the country. Her house is full of my work. This is a quintych from years ago. Metallic leaf and oil on canvas.
