Art on the Avenue is an award-winning multicultural arts festival featuring 300+ artists, musicians, food vendors, kids activities, and more.

We are thrilled to share the poster design for the 31st Annual Art on the Avenue, with illustration by Robert A. Friedenberg of and design by Lucid Creative.

Bob started drawing in college while pursuing his doctorate in theoretical nuclear physics. His work is a collection of VERY detailed black & white pen & ink drawings, all made using a .25mm Rapidograph. Everything is inked entirely by hand, utilizing a wide variety of themes ranging from nature, animals, and scenery to machinery, musical instruments, and vehicles to space, science fiction, and fantasy. Often, he incorporate pictures, words, symbols, equations, and more into his drawings to add depth, and texture, and to engage the viewer -- to keep you looking and always finding something new. Art on the Avenue takes place on Saturday, Oct. 3 from 10am to 6pm along Mount Vernon Avenue in the heart of Del Ray, featuring 350 artists, four stages of live music, food, a pie baking contest, free kids' activities, and more. Complete details at artontheavenue.org

We are so excited that one of our Art on the Avenue favorites, 's Jill-Ann Mark, designed the t-shirt art for this year's Del Ray Dog Fest!

The 4th Annual Del Ray Dog Fest takes place on Sunday, April 12 from 11am to 3pm 🐾 Expect a fun-filled, family-friendly kickoff to spring with lots of dog-centric activities for pups and their humans, vendors, food trucks, adoptable dogs, live music, and more.

CONGRATULATIONS to our Pie Baking Contest boss, Autumn Rose, on being recognized by with the Joan White Grassroots Service Award!

Volunteer Alexandria: "Through her tireless efforts, Autumn’s hands-on leadership has kept two beloved Alexandria traditions not only alive but thriving, strengthening community connection while ensuring continued impact for future generations. The Pie Contest raises thousands to benefit the Alexandria Women’s Domestic Abuse Shelter, and the Big Flea was restored as a thriving community fundraiser post-COVID."
