It's almost time for Albuquerque Abstract Artists Alliance (4A)'s exhibit opening, "New Visions of the Natural World."

The exhibit runs from June 20 through Aug. 1 at Open Space Alliance, 6500 Coors Blvd. NW, Albuquerque, NM 87120.

The Opening Reception will be 2-4 p.m., Sat., June 20.

The Closing Reception will be 2-4 p.m., Sat., Aug. 1.

Exhibit Hours will be 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Tuesdays through Saturdays.

The exhibit runs from June 20 through Aug. 1 at Open Space Alliance, 6500 Coors Blvd. NW, Albuquerque, NM 87120.

During our exhibit, “New Visions of the Natural World,” the Albuquerque Abstract Artist Alliance, in cooperation with the Open Space Alliance, presents:

A nature and art workshop led by 4A members Dana Millen and Ginna Heiden:

This workshop will be a collaborative exercise. The kids, with guidance from the adult leaders, will create a large abstract work of art using prompts that engage them in making marks collaboratively. At the end of the project, Open Space plans to scan the collaborative work and share it with all the participants.

Date: 2 to 4 p.m., Friday, June 26
Cost: Free
• Limited Space for up to 18 children
• Ages: Recommended for children aged 9-10

WORKSHOP DETAILS
An introduction to painting with cold wax medium with contemporary artist Kari Bell.

Cold wax painting is a technique that combines cold wax medium with oils to create textured, layered artworks with a unique matte finish.

Utilizing oils and cold wax, Kari creates space for spontaneous happenings within the paint itself; the waxy surface can be scratched, gouged, patterned, pressed, and stained layer after layer.

This invites the viewer to take a deeper look.
