It's that time again! Time to put little for the First Day of School Drive to support first graders in the McKinney Vento Program run through APS.

The details about what is needed are highlighted well in the flyer, so I won't repeat them here. Instead, I want to share with you all that the primary reason we do this drive each year is to highlight the great need in Albuquerque. Last year alone, this program served over 300 families that were unhoused last year to get back on their feet and on track to stay housed, employed, and able to provide for their family.

I am proud to support this program alongside other small businesses. It takes a little extra time each year to organize and sometimes catalog these outfits, but if it means one more person is aware of the need or one more family is connected with help, I feel that the extra time is well used!

It's time to highlight some of our new acquisitions! On our front rounder, we have denims, chambrays, new cottons, muslin, a little bottom-weight linen, and some wool! Price points vary from $10 - $18 per yard.

In the top sidebar are two nice and beefy weight active wear fabrics (these are wicking fabrics. In the bottom sidebar is a beautiful, natural cotton linen knit. These are priced at $12 per yard and $15 per yard, respectively.

There are so many new fabrics that we had to stop and get a few pics and show them off before putting them out to sell! Prices for these fabrics range from $9 to 14.50 yard. Many of these are out on the front rounder now.

The stiff, March breeze reminded us that, in spite of the record-breaking warmth of this winter, we still have a bit to go before Spring. So we took a break from pricing fabrics today (everything from cottons to silks) to finish up a little sewing project from some RK Mammoth Flannel for Maggie to show off. I think she looks pretty good!

This RK Kaufman Mammoth Flannel is sold out, but we have 3 more still in stock! Pattern is self drafted by NHF owner.

We have more fabrics than are shown here, but here’s a quick round-up of what arrived today (yes, really!) — and we even have more new fabrics that we haven’t photographed yet!

Left image:
• Two new modal rayons — 58" wide, $18.75 per yard
• Two sweet, 100% organic cotton lawns — 45" wide, $16.50 per yard

Upper right image:
• The return of our iron-on cotton batting! It may not be everyone’s favorite, but we love crafting with this stuff. 45" wide, $12 per yard
• In the middle (a bit hard to see): “On Point” diamond dobby — 100% cotton with a beefy hand. It looks like it would take dye beautifully or add texture to so many projects. 54" wide, $12 per yard
• And a first for us — character polyester fleece! This fleece features Mickey’s forever sweetheart, Minnie Mouse (see detail in the lower right image). About 60" wide, $18.99 per yard (MSRP)

And that’s not all! Over the last two weeks we’ve also received:
• Wools (including wool blend gauze)
• Classic 50/50 wool/poly flannels
• 100% wool felt in three colors
• A fresh boost to our swim knits
• So many by-the-piece, single-project cuts that we may just have to plan a sale!
