Hey, I’m Sandy — and if you don’t know me yet, you should.
I’m a SAG actress with 14 years in the film industry. I know talent — and New
Mexico is full of it. Not enough people are talking about it. So I started After
The Show Music Review.
It all started when my friends kept asking — “How was the band? The venue? The crowd?” Nobody had one
place for all of that. So I built it.
Here’s why you need to follow me — if you’ve ever stayed home thinking there was
nothing to do, there was. You just didn’t know about it. I do the homework so you
don’t have to.
A few months in and I’m feeling like the dating app of music. 😂 Find your
people. Find your vibe. Find your favorite artist. The weekends here are stacked —
and coming soon, artist interviews, more video, and I’m taking After The Show
across the entire state.
Musicians — DM me. Tell me where you’re playing. And I promise — I will never post
video from your performances. I could never do you justice. What I will do is show
up and make sure people know exactly how good you are.

I don’t know how I missed them until now — but that mistake won’t happen twice. Hillary is a classically trained, award-winning powerhouse and Hillary Smith & The Chillhouse Blues Band is an absolute unit. The dance floor spilled into the seating area. On a Thursday. At 6PM.

That patio alone is reason enough to show up on a Thursday night. Add some blues to it and I’m already sold.

Ok so I review local music. New Mexico. The venues, the bands, the nights. That’s the deal.

But then Casa Brown goes and does this. 👇🏼
Aaron LaCombe is a traveling musician. Detroit born. He’s lived in New Mexico and Texas. This man has lived a lot of life and every bit of it ended up in a song. He’ll tell you himself — his songwriting is in the John Prine vein. Bold claim. Except he backs it up.
Go listen to “Uncle Carl.” Then “Superman, Only Better.” Then “Ode To Allsups Burritos” — only someone who actually gets New Mexico writes that song.
This man can write a sad song. The kind where you’re still in your car in the driveway because you can’t get out yet. No self-pity. Just truth with a melody. That’s the Prine thing. That’s Aaron.

Casa Brown is why nights like this happen. Intimate. Acoustic. Close enough that the stories feel like they’re meant for you. You leave feeling like you were somehow part of whatever he writes next.
