Thesperience wishes everyone a very happy Pride Month! 🏳️‍🌈 It's that time of year that we share our lovely lil' Pride Month info graphic!

🏳️‍⚧️ WHAT IS PRIDE?
Pride can be a celebration & honoring liberation, equity, & survival in the q***r community. Pride is a reminder of our continued struggle; the fight for equity & equality aren't over.

🏳️‍🌈 WHY?
Criminalization and systemic oppression of 2SLGBTQAI+ and other marginalized groups means that we need a movement to combat for equity and equality!

🏳️‍⚧️ WAYS TO HELP:
- Support q***r owned businesses
- Learn about q***r history and politics
- Attend q***r events to show support
- Enjoy q***r-made media & content
- Donate to charities, organizations, & fundraisers
- March in local protests and sign petitions
- Support relocation efforts and gender affirming care funds

🏳️‍🌈 WHY WE NEED PRIDE:
- Over 9.3% of Americans identify as LGBTQ+, roughly 30 million people
- There are over 2 million transgender Americans
- Over 85% of LGBTQ+ students report being openly discriminated in school
As of 2025 there are at least 575 anti-LGBTQ+ bills being tracked across the country*

Are you a drag artist, singer, dancer, poet, or performance powerhouse? Do you serve stage presence, gender euphoria, and maybe a little bit of chaos in the best possible way? We want you at Albany Pride.

We’re looking for q***r talent first and foremost—because Pride is for you, and your art deserves the spotlight.

We prioritize talent from the greater Albany area, but we’ve been known to make exceptions for those who truly serve on stage.

A quick note: Albany Pride is an all-ages event with a beautifully broad audience—kids, teens, parents, elders, and everyone in between. You’re an artist, so you already know the assignment: keep it bold, brilliant, and community-conscious. What happens on stage during the day should reflect the power and joy of q***r expression for everyone.

Bring your truth, your talent, and your glitter—we’ll bring the stage and the love.
