We are working on a couple new gigs for November and December! We will add them to our website when they are finalized.
In spite of the inclement weather, we had a great time playing a concert at Rockynol Retirement Community yesterday and we were well received. We look forward to playing there again! We have a lull now before our next gig. We will be working on new charts with our new vocalist, John Wood. Never a dull moment!

We have just added a last-minute concert at Rockynol this Saturday, September 8 from 4 to 6! We are excited to play there again!
We have a lull in our schedule now, but we are putting it to good use. We are working to improve our musicianship, clean up songs in our book and add some new vocal charts.
Played our annual concert at the Northwest Rec Center last night and got a standing ovation! Akron Mayor Daniel Horrigan was there along with several officials. The rain held off until we finished. Great evening!
We had a great time playing for the Silver Lake Bicentennial yesterday. We played on the new patio and the DJ provided a mic for our MC. It was a large, appreciative crowd. We hope we are asked to play again next year!

We are looking forward to playing for the Silver Lake festival this Saturday, 7/21/18 from 1:30 to 3 PM. Our rehearsal director, Jim Fry, has been doing a terrific job working to improve the band's musicianship. We are anxious to show off our new sound!
We had an excellent concert at Copley Square this Sunday night. There was a nice breeze and the heat was tolerable. We had a nice crowd who stayed with us all evening. The sound man was excellent. Thanks to everyone for a fun evening!
Our recent concerts at Brookdale Montrose (formerly Chambrel), Kenmore Community Center and Concordia at Sumner have all been well attended and received. Vocalist John Wood has recently joined the band and we are working on new charts with him! It is going to be fun!
We enjoyed playing for the Shriners at the North Canton Hilton on Saturday. A good time was had by all!

Our friend Lillian celebrated her 90th birthday today with The Akron Big Band. The wonderful folks at the Kenmore Community Center invited her friends and had cake and ice cream for her - and there was enough left over for the Band! Happy Birthday Lillian!!
Thanks to the great crowd that came to see us yesterday at Keyser Park! We have a nice break coming up (we are even going to skip practice this week!) and are looking forward to our next show at Hardesty Park on Sunday July 30.
Bad news Big Band fans.... The Valor Ball scheduled for July 8th has been cancelled. The city of Green may have us play for a separate event this fall. Stay tuned......
