Akron Area Arts Alliance 20 years promoting the value of a strong, diverse & vibrant arts & culture community The Akron Area Arts Alliance (AAAA) utilizes its collective resources to: 1) foster communication and cooperation among area cultural organizations, 2) generate greater awareness and participation in the arts and humanities in all segments of the community, and 3) promote the value of arts and humanities to local governments and advocate for their financial investment in community cultural activities.

Mission: The Akron Area Arts Alliance is a non-profit advocacy organization that promotes the value of a strong, divers and vibrant arts and culture community for Greater Akron.

Jessie Raynor announces retirement from Akron Area Arts Alliance

Jessie Raynor, director of the Akron Area Arts Alliance (AAAA), will retire by June 30. “I have accomplished what I wanted to accomplish with AAAA, and I’m very proud of its growth and accomplishments,” said Raynor, who has been director for 12 years.

Who knew? According to Americans for the Arts, as shared by the GAR Foundation with attendees at yesterday's AAAA luncheon, Summit County is home to 1,314 arts-related businesses employing 5,930 people (Jan. 2011) - conservatively! Thanks to GAR for presenting "A Foundation's View of Regionalism & the Arts" - a relevant and informative program.

Membership is open to not-for-profit organizations in Summit, Portage and Medina Counties that have as a primary part of their mission promoting arts and culture. Artists and individuals who support AAAA's mission are also welcomed as members. Current membership totals 49 organizations and 69 artists and art suppporters. Organizational members include museums, visual and performing arts groups, theatres, foundations, university arts departments and other arts education programs.
