Here is my work in progress of a work in progress, myself. Frida Kahlo said “I am my own muse. The subject I know best. The subject I want to know better.” THINK about that. 🙌🏼 As artists, we gather inspiration from various personal and unique places, mine being nature, mostly. But what actually spills out onto that canvas, that is your inspiration & intuition manifesting itself into art. It’s beautiful. It’s empowering. With each new piece I create, I learn more about myself. Do you feel the same? ✨
Some people, especially those who haven’t tried woodburning, may think that text is one of the easiest things to burn. I think it’s quite the opposite, requiring a ton of patience and a super steady hand. But there’s nothing better than turning on some music and zoning out in the details of burning text. 💛🔥
A little afternoon meditation burning after working on ornament orders ✨
My favorite part of burning 🔥 💨
Spending this cloudy day burning some florals with my new @walnuthollow creative woodburner! I’m really loving this burner. I’m using the ball point tip at highest heat here. 🖊
While I’m waiting on a new Razertip pen, I had to break out my A1 from day one, my @walnuthollow Versa Tool 💛

Just some real-time line work goodness for your Friday afternoon! This custom ukulele is coming along... 🎶
Just digging vintage hot air balloons lately 💛
I’ve been working on a custom order that’s bigger than my desk! It’s a nice change from working on smaller pieces all the time. I’m using Razertip & Tekchic tools in this video. 💛
Working on some smaller wood slices with my new Arteza paints 🍄
Burning while the baby sleeps 💛
I asked you all for suggestions on what to put in the middle of this piece, and I got some awesome responses! A handful of you suggested a fox and I thought it was an awesome idea. Stay tuned to see the finished piece tomorrow! 🦊
Sometimes I’m asked if I can recreate an older piece that has sold, and the answer is most likely yes! I actually love doing this. 💕
Burning some happy little trees today 🌲

I prefer free-hand burning anything in nature, especially trees. No two are the same and it’s best to just go with the flow!
Painting “punkies” (as my two year old would say) 🤣🍁
This chilly weather has me so in the mood to grab a cup of coffee and burn. I spent the past few days getting ready for the holiday season - ordering shipping supplies, wood, and packaging goods. It's never too early to get your custom requests in for holiday gifts!
Work in progress of a new owl piece I’ll have at the House of Blues Cleveland on September 11th! Contact me for discounted tickets to the awesome art show I’m taking part in. I hope to see some of you there!
Working on part of a world map commission today! 🌎
Where's the farthest you have traveled?
Perfect day to sit on the porch, paint, and ignore all the toys that need picked up 🎨
"May the flowers remind us why the rain was so necessary." ✨
Burning some teeny tiny pine trees today 🌲

A little tip for any artists - I find that when it comes to trees or other nature art, sometimes free-handing is best. Nothing in nature is "perfect" and if you try to draw it out first you'll just stress yourself out. Just let it flow... 🌿
I call this "preliminary shading" ✨ Shading is the most time-consuming, difficult, yet favorite part of burning for me. Everything starts to take form and you see your vision start to come to life. I have many more hours in this, but I'm enjoying the journey and trusting the process. 😄
Started working on a ship hatch that is over 100 years old! I'm burning an old ship design into it then it will be turned into a coffee table. Here is just a snippet of the outlines.
Spent this afternoon working on a custom cutting board! I've had an influx of custom orders lately I haven't been able to share. Thankfully most grandmas aren't on Instagram.. so I could post this 😉
I was about to photograph my new pieces for a shop update and almost forgot the most important part on this!
Remember when I was so excited about moving my desk in front of a window? I was so pumped to have a nice view and awesome lighting (for videos and pictures.) With the growth of spring and trees growing back their leaves, my good lighting is now blocked 😭 so... here is a throwback time lapse! Any suggestions on my light situation?
Mandalas are so healing ✨
