ARTIST SPOTLIGHT *** Meet Center for Applied Drama & Autism/Theatre on the Spectrum (CADA), which was founded by Wendy Duke and Laura Valendza in Akron. They created an acting class for autistic and disabled children that has grown into an internationally accessible curriculum "that inspires growth and empowerment of diverse people on the autism spectrum through theatre-based programming."
***
CADA's Theatre on the Spectrum troupe of actors are featured on the 5 of Diamonds in our Akron on Deck playing cards set, and are pictured at Schneider Park for the production of Josh Gippin’s THE FORGOTTEN DEAD, a story that "strives to memorialize those who were marginalized in life, and forgotten in death, by challenging us all to rethink our perceptions of the people all around us living today with disabilities."

Congratulations to Griffin Snider, who has two wonderful artworks on display in the online Milestones Art Exhibition Hall today and tomorrow! One is a collage of his eye! Very cool! And the other is a self-portrait of Griffin cooking in his kitchen, We know Griffin loves to cook as we have seen him in many an improvised scene involving restaurants and kitchens over the years! Below, Griffin is cooking sausages!
Thank you CADA for putting on my play! Looking forward to seeing it. Hope some of my Facebook friends will watch, too.
