We wanted to let everyone know our plans for in-person summer camps!
We've weighed safety guidance along with input from many of you, and feel safe hosting camps with only a limited number of kids. The well-being of our students + staff are our highest priority, always. We've mapped out strong safety protocols & procedures, and we feel confident that we can safely have our regularly scheduled summer camps in studio on a smaller scale.
You can see our health and safety policy here: https://akronartworks.com/blogs/news/health-and-safety-plan. A schematic of the newly configured space is below.
Camp themes range from Art Exploration to 3D Sculpture to Art Around the World. To see a complete listing of camp themes here: https://akronartworks.com/pages/camp
NOTE we are also offering online camps as well!
In-person camp size will be limited to 8 (eight) artists to allow students to spread out. And camp will be 3 hours, you can pick either morning (9am-12pm) or afternoon (1pm-4pm).
Each participant will receive their own personal supplies, including a mask, to use throughout the week. This will minimize sharing/passing of materials and students keep those supplies when the week of camp is finished.
Drop-off and Pick-up will be outside, to minimize the number of people inside the studio.
Wellness checks at drop-off daily.
We know first hand how therapeutic art can be, and we're so looking forward to offering this experience to kids right now when we they need it most!
