THE NEXT CHAPTER FOR THE TANGIER

Dear Tangier Family & Akron community,

Tangier has been serving Akron and the surrounding communities for more than 65 years. Since its opening, Tangier has always had a culture of community involvement and has partnered with countless organizations, families, and individuals of all walks of life in the great city of Akron. At this time, after three generations of being in the same family, we are excited to tell you about the next chapter for the Tangier. We are overjoyed to announce that ownership will transition to the LeBron James Family Foundation. We could not think of a better organization to entrust our legacy with. The LeBron James Family Foundation is constantly striving to innovate, redefine, and reshape what it means to be family and a community.

As ownership is going to change, we would like all our partners, clients, and customers to be aware that there will be a transition period during 2021. The George family will continue to coordinate and serve your events at the new House Three Thirty location. Any events or commitments that were made for the year 2021 will be fulfilled.

We would like to thank all of those who made Tangier what it is today, bringing it from a small restaurant to a nationally awarded banquet and event center. Thank you to our partners, clients, patrons, entertainers, organizations, and the entire community of Akron. A special thanks to all our employees, past and present, your tireless dedication was invaluable to the success that we attained.

We are so excited for what is to come and can’t wait to be a part of it!

LeBron James Family Foundation teams up with The Tangier to build sports complex, community space in Akron

We are so excited for the opportunity to partner with the LeBron James Family Foundation!!!

Tangier will continue operations as usual and continue to host private events, wedding receptions, and entertainment. All private events are still on hold and taking place.The renovations will not interfere with any events currently booked. We will be sending out email updates on the progress of the this partnership and the new exciting renovations to come!

The top of Tangier's parking deck will be converted into the new sports complex, featuring basketball courts, play areas and interactive outdoor spaces.

Rodgers Photography for helping me out with some awesome photos for reference as I added more detail in studio 📸🙏 Besides all those wedding guests on the dance floor, you might notice two other furry family members that I added per a special request of the bride - Gigi and Daisy! 😸😸❤️ I love when couples include pets in their big day, and being a bird mom (don’t judge - my 4 lovebirds are the cutest!)
