Our Story
We will open mid-late January 2019 in the Warehouse at the Plaza in Ajo. We will be providing super low-cost vending space, oodles of broken things to recycle, things to repair, a tool library, a place to tinker and work on projects, workshops and classes to help vendors become a full fledged independent business. Most likely much more to come.

Pizza, tech, and design are not precisely retail, but the story of these new local indie businesses and entrepreneurs is pretty special🎉
A piece of the Ajo Pie Co story:
Kelley and I have been living in our camper traveling the country with no real intention to stop. Entering the town and seeing the beautiful vibrant art all over the buildings and alleyways, then rounding the corner to see one of the most beautiful plazas Ajo Plaza busy with shoppers and group yoga on the green (shout-out to Bonzai Studio🎉) all felt as though we were in a dream! We knew this was the place for us from the very first second we drove by the 3 Nations Market building and artist's alley.
We’ve been here for a little over 2 months now and have been looking for ways to generate enough income that would allow us to make a more permanent life here in Ajo. We heard about ISDA’s Kickstart Ajo program to support the local economy. We both had businesses in Maine but needed a little help with equipment purchases that would allow us to offer our services in a more permanent way to Ajo. Along with many others, Kickstart Ajo awarded us each with different grants and other support for our businesses.
We’re so excited to see where the future takes us and can’t wait to start growing our businesses here and offering our services to this incredible community!

What a great day yesterday! On Wednesday, at the June Chamber of Commerce meeting, our largest round of Kickstart Ajo recipients (25 local business owners!) received their business funding awards!
Kickstart Ajo is a rural economic development initiative with the goal of increasing the number of businesses developed, attracted and/or retained in Ajo, AZ.
Thank you to our 25 business owners for keeping our local Ajo economy active and growing.
