It was a magical night at the Fine Arts Winter Showcase! The CHS Theatre Wing (with a little help from Santa and his elves) had a blast at this year’s Showcase. We had so much fun getting to paint faces, sell ornaments, and take pictures with you! It was also so exciting getting to see all of the gorgeous student artwork displayed from each of the schools. The beautiful music that was performed tonight from every grade level was so special and moving. We are always so excited when we get to join together to celebrate the arts, and tonight was no exception!
Thank you for your continued support of the students in Cook County. We loved helping you get into the holiday spirit!
These are just a few of the beautiful ornaments available for purchase tomorrow during the Fine Arts Winter Showcase. Hand crafted by our very own CHS Theatre Wing students, they are a perfect edition to any tree. They can also be personalized by request. Come early because each ornament is one of a kind and certain to go fast!
The Cook County Schools’ Fine Art Winter Showcase will be held on Tuesday 29th in the CHS gymnasium. Featuring programs from Music, Drama, and Art from CPS. CES, CMS, AND CHS, they are certain to get you in the holiday spirit.

Callbacks, if needed, will be held on Thursday December 1st. Anyone interested in auditioning should sign up for an audition slot on the call board outside Ms. Powell’s room- room 307. Based on the hit 2004 film of the same name, Mean Girls High School Version tells the story of Cady Heron- a transfer student from Africa trying to make her way through the wild and vicious terrain of high school. After gaining the attention of The Plastics, a popular group of frenemies led by the charming but vicious Regina George, Cady must decide the limits she is willing to go to keep her new found popularity. “But when Cady and her friends devise a "Revenge Party" to end Regina’s reign, she learns the hard way that you can’t cross a Queen Bee without getting stung.”
Come celebrate the holiday season with us! ✨

She was voted by her peers and teachers for the month of November. Carly was selected because she “is a very talented artist!”, and always “takes her time and is very creative! Her artwork is always neat and she is always on task and working diligently”. Her peers also said that “she’s literally the most beautiful soul out of us all”. They went further discussing her work ethic saying that, “she was literally on top of a platform putting boxes on a trailer”, and that she is always dedicated to detail “especially with the bricks and the checkered just looks so clean and pretty. She just does so amazing with our sets every single time and [we are] just so proud of her”! Congratulations Carly! We are so proud of you and all of your accomplishments.
