Art students of the month Elijah and Olivia. Congratulations!!
Congratulations art student of the month, Kennady Hall!
If you read a book to 4K about cupcakes, chances are they’ll want to make some! If You Give a Cat a Cupcake by Laura Numeroff.
Kindergarten has been doing some color mixing with primary colored markers and water. We also revisited rainbow order and made these cute clouds!
Second graders learned about the Amazon River and created these stilted villages that reflect in the river. Mrs Rhinehart even said they reminded her of the villages she saw in Costa Rica, where all the houses were also on stilts!
Kindergartners learned about a place called Flamingo Beach, where the flamingos are so used to people they just walk right up to them! We created these fabulous, feathered flamingos.
4K is making suns to go with our rainbows. We’ve discovered that when stacked together we’ve got ourselves quite a hat! Kentucky Derby anyone??
Art student of the month Arabella!!
Raechel Wallendal Kosler
Third graders are learning about the Black Forest in Germany. They are creating a collage that will include the forest background, a red squirrel, and various leaves and mushrooms.
We are beginning with one of my favorite techniques I call marker painting. Ask your third grader about it!
The 4K students learned How the Crayons Saved the Rainbow. Then they drew the biggest, brightest, most colorful rainbow the world has ever seen! Notice both the sun and the clouds, because both have to be there to make a rainbow. And because they are best friends!!

Ugly sweater day is seriously one of my favorite days of the year!!
4K worked on ordering from shortest to longest by creating these Christmas trees. They used scraps from the messy mats that keep our tables clean during painting. Over time, the messy mats become their own beautiful pieces of art!!
Kindergarten and First grade are both creating holiday art that originated in Germany- nutcrackers and gingerbread houses (based on the story Hansel and Gretel).
I’m suspicious of this new student…
