After a combination, it is very important to take a moment and ask the dancers what they were working on, what they could improve on and what they’re trying to achieve. I’m amazed at how many times I have to repeat myself to help them understand. Actually asking them really lets me evaluate if we can go to the next combination and if something was achieved correctly. No matter how talented the Dancer is, if they don’t understand what muscle group, what the focus of the combination should be and why they’re doing it, the combination goes from a ballet exercise to just exercise with no purpose. When there is no purpose for the exercise the only thing that’s achieved is cardio lol. My dancers are so smart and thoughtful. I was proud of the responses. join us Dance Dimensions and see for yourself!
