Meet Meela Kisika—a Maasai woman leader (pictured in blue below, cooking at her stove.)
Ten years ago, Meela Kisika joined the Maasai Women’s Installation Team in the village of Enguiki in Monduli Juu. But Meela is not simply a Project employee. As a Team member she is a community leader.
Through the Maasai Stoves & Solar Project, women are far more than recipients of benefits. They are part of a cohesive team. They are organized, energetic, and working together for a better life for all the women and children of the community.
Meela lives with her children in a tiny house in a very large boma,or settlement. Through the work of Meela’s Team, all the homes of the boma now have the Maasai Stoves & Solar stove. And the boma is lit up at night because of the ICSEE solar micro-grid.

PAINTING TIPS
Consider the right sheen level.
The finish of your paint, or sheen, will have a major impact on the appearance of the job. Gloss, satin, egg shell, matte – each has a different look and a different purpose.
High-traffic areas do well with gloss or satin as these finishes can resist fingermarks and can be cleaned more easily. We often put this in kitchens and children's rooms. But, the gloss can make wall imperfections (wavy drywall, dings, etc. much more visible.
A more matte finish, such as flat, will not clean as well or endure touches as well, but you won't see imperfections as much. Main living areas such as the living room and bedrooms are a good fit for this finish. Are you in doubt? Get in touch with your questions.

We Live In a Wonderful World of Sound & Color...
I have 120 yr old Victorian house with cracks in the ceilings. Other contractors wanted to tear down the molding and put in a sheet-rock ceiling, but Chuck was enthusiastic about repairing the ceiling and saving the molding. Great care and craftsmanship. Was done quite a while ago and still looks great!
