One of my former students and favorite people in the world posted a vid of themselves rocking out to this warmup yesterday and inspired me to try to do the same. I'll never forget my Sr year of high school one of the drum instructors telling us that this intro part is more about the time the stick is in the air and less about the 9/8 rhythm on the page. Always is in my head when playing that beginning! Viva la White Mambo!

Friends who know. This year I decided to try and grow some spinach. I’m wondering did this one (and a few others like it) turn to seed and if so will I not get a harvest this year from them?

I’ve never been to a protest before. (I don’t like large crowds and I’m socially anxious) But tonight my town had one and I’m glad I went and saw it for myself. The crowd chanted, took a knee, asked the police to take a knee, I believe one officer did right away, another round of chanting, another knee, then the police took a knee in solidarity with the crowd which brought on a long, sustained round of applause from protestors and onlookers alike.
