IR 59 Eritrea Dub Journey :E-Book & Soundtrack .
Eritrea Dub Journey is a double-sided release, featuring an e-book and a soundtrack to accompany it.

The 300+ page e-book is the first in IR’s Afreekan Dub Biography series ( identified by the logo of map of Africa with anarchist symbol imprinted on it). It takes the reader on a trod through the dub worlds of Eritrea, Ethiopia, Vietnam, Morocco, Senegal, Jamaica, and Turtle Island. Ebilotoh and Dubzaine’s narrative is visually rich with photographs of sacred landscapes and earth-based peoples encountered along the way.

The soundtrack to Eritrea Dub Journey draws from the IR discography, including tracks that are being featured on Bandcamp for the very first time. Selected by Prasonik, the 10-tracks feature collaborations with Underground Resistance, Dhangsha,Michael Franti, Herman “Soy Sos” Pearl,Christiane Dolores Jah9, Sawandi, King Raab, and IR::Sankara Future Dub Resurgence.

What elevates this compilation to the level of a soundtrack is its inner-to-outer dub flow, mirroring the emotional journey of the book. In turn, the soundtrack is itself a sonic journey, taking the listener through music off the beaten and broken path: dub, house, electro, jazz, traditional Indigenous singing and spoken word, and futuristic African vibes. Collected together here, these elements form a spectrum of mystical, yet militant, tones.

( Bandcamp http://tiny.cc/ze1jtz ) prophetic lyrics written before lockdown last year which ask the question " Where do you think you are going ? now that the borders are closed,the airports are closed and ground transportation shut down?"
When those lyrics were written there was no lockdown , borders were open ,everything was running. No hint of what was to come. People scratched their heads and were puzzled by the lyrics . A couple months later Covid pandemic reality set in and suddenly they got they overstood the lyrics...
