Fifteen-year-old Sunday Sensomba ( Kadogos) serves as a National Resistance Army (NRA) soldier under President Yoweri Museveni.
NRM Kadogos refers to the thousands of child soldiers who fought in the National Resistance Army (NRA)—the military wing of the National Resistance Movement (NRM)—led by Yoweri Museveni during the Ugandan Bush War (1981–1986). The word "Kadogo" is a Swahili term that translates to "little ones."
When the NRA successfully captured Kampala and took power in January 1986, these young boys and girls, some as young as seven to fifteen years old, became a defining image of the revolution.
Most Kadogos were Luwero Triangle orphans who joined the NRA for survival after losing their families, numbering over 3,000 children under 15.
