The Meeting Point is an interactive installation by Tetiana Kartasheva, presented during Zurich Design Weeks in collaboration with Kyiv Design Week.
Tetiana Kartasheva creates a contemplative environment and invites visitors to reflect: How do you find a place of belonging again when you have lost it? Do we first have to meet ourselves before we can meet others? All objects in the installation "The Meeting Point" are touchable and movable. They invite you to sit or lie down, do exercises, calm down and open up.
The installation is located in the Kulturhaus Helferei, an institution where people from different countries and backgrounds come together. The idea behind "The Meeting Point" is to create an inclusive and visually appealing space. A place to meet each other and get in touch with others, to build trust and initiate conversations. Every small movement, every interaction – or the decision not to interact – contributes to a shared, collective experience.
For the production of the installation, the team collaborated with Social Fabric, an independent Zurich-based studio committed to work integration and training of people with refugee backgrounds.
