In "Apocalypse Now," the opening shot was reconstructed from scraps of film that were otherwise destined for the landfill. By sheer luck, Coppola stumbled upon it after shooting 1.5 million feet of film. Coppola also instructed the editor to use "The End" by The Doors since he found the idea of opening a film with that song to be amusing.

Dark Horse Comics had to cancel several titles in the 1990s including their CGW title as the comic industry was glutted & imploded in the 1990s. However, they were saved by Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Ghost in the Shell, Frank Miller's Sin City & 300!

They say music is a universal language. And, you know, they're probably right. After all, who doesn't love a great, foot-tapping tune? (If you believe the plot of Close Encounters of the Third Kind, even aliens do!) But as much as you love music and music theory in all its forms—and as much as you think you know about your favorite songs and artists—there are still plenty of opportunities to be totally floored.
