• Katika kipindi cha mwaka 2022 na 2023 Wahanga wengi walikuwa ni wanawake (21,466mwaka 2022 na 25,420 mwaka 2023) kuliko wanaume (9,100 mwaka 2022 na 12,028 mwaka 2023);
• Idadi ya wahanga wa ukatili wa kingono wameripotiwa kuongezeka kwa asilimia 30.1 kutoka wahanga 11,028 mwaka 2022 hadi kufikia wahanga 14,354 mwaka 2023;
• Idadi kubwa ya wahanga waliripotiwa katika Mkoa wa Dar es Salaam mwaka 2023 (wahanga 10,391) sawa na asilimia 27.7 ya wahanga wote ikifuatia na Arusha (4,565) sawa na asilimia 12.2 na mkoa ulioripotiwa kuwa na wahanga wachache zaidi ni Kusini Pemba (101) sawa na asilimia 0.3;
• Mkoa unaoongoza kwa kuwa na wahanga wengi wa wanawake kubakwa katika kipindi cha miaka 2022 na 2023 ni mkoa wa Dar es Salaam (1,081 na 1,234). Ubakaji umeongezeka zaidi katika mkoa wa Morogoro kutoka wanawake 164 hadi 525;
• Ukatili wa wanaume kulawitiwa umeonekana kuwa na ongezeko katika mikoa yote katika kipindi cha mwaka 2022 na 2023. Katika kipindi cha mwaka 2023, mkoa wa Dar es Salaam (wahanga 412) unaongoza ukifuatiwa na mkoa wa Arusha (wahanga 237) na mkoa wa Mjini Magharibi (wahanga 215);
• Katika mwaka 2023, mikoa inayoongoza kuwa na ukatili wa kubakwa kwa wanawake wenye umri wa miaka 18 na zaidi ni mkoa wa Arusha (wahanga 80), Dodoma (wahanga 78) na Dar es Salaam (wahanga 74) na mikoa iliyoongoza katika kulawiti ni Arusha
(wahanga 29, wanaume 22 na wanawake 7) na Dar es Salaam (wahanga 23, wanaume
19 na wanawake 4);
• Ukatili wa kijinsia kwa watoto walio chini ya umri wa miaka 18 uliongezeka kutoka watoto
12,163 (wasichana 9,962 na wavulana 2,201) mwaka 2022 hadi watoto 15,301
(wasichana 12,098, wavulana 3,203) mwaka 2023;
• Katika kipindi cha mwaka 2023, mikoa iliyoongoza kwa watoto wa k**e walio chini ya miaka
18 kubakwa ni Dar es Salaam (1,160), Mjini Magharibi (556), Morogoro (502) na Tanga
(500) na mikoa iliyoongoza katika kulawiti ni Dar es Salaam (Jumla ya wahanga 454, wavulana 393 na wasichana 61) ikifuatiwa na Mjini Magharibi (wahanga 224, wavulana 215 na wasichana 9), Arusha (wahanga 222, wavulana 215

This new study uses Stop It Now! metrics to meet the need for more information about how the pandemic may have caused changes in the help-seeking behavior of people who have concerns about their thoughts and behaviors regarding children.

Concerns about the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on child sexual exploitation and abuse have been expressed by police and child protection organizations, but, until now, there has been limited data available on this time period. By examining helpline and webpage metrics from two organizations – Stop It Now! USA and Lucy Faithfull Foundation's Stop It Now! UK and Ireland – that provide resources about child sexual exploitation and abuse prevention, including self-help pages for people concerned about their sexual thoughts or behaviors involving children, the researchers discuss the potential implications of the pandemic and consequences for perpetration prevention.
