上個週末Places主辦、
史多利學堂協辦了一場
不太一樣的活動：
J. Elaine Marcos 表演藝術大師班
這一次囊括了音樂劇與影視表演，
更是一段”感受與回應”的探索，
不論表演類別、不分年齡經驗，
這位熱情洋溢、創意無限的
表演藝術家只問一個問題：
你的角色想些什麼？
感受他們的心境，把想法說出來，
前導你的台詞、歌詞，
然後自然回應。
每個人開始的狀態不同，
但 thought 這個字讓大家都呈現出
讓人印象深刻的改變。
另一大驚喜是：正在台灣巡演
《萬世巨星》音樂劇
飾演亞那的Kodiak Thompson
不但現身排練廳探望我們，
進而帶了整個上午的劇目舞段練習，
教人的和被教的都開心享受。
3天的高強度訓練，
很多真誠的表演、動人的瞬間，
看到大家眼裡閃閃發光，
再次感受到Places在做一件
有意義的事情。
感謝淑文老師的引薦和協助，
讓我們有機會在極短時間內完成
一次精彩的跨國合作。

Last weekend, Places hosted,
in collaboration with Story,
a rather unique event:
« J. Elaine Marcos’ Performing Arts Masterclass »
It was a course that encompassed both musical theater and
on-camera acting,
also an exploration of
“feeling and responding”.
Regardless of performance genre, participants’ age or experience,
our passionate and
infinitely creative artist
asked just one question:
What are the thoughts of
your character?
Feel their state of mind,
voice those thoughts, let them guide your lines and lyrics,
and then react naturally.
Each started from a different state,
but the word “thought”
helped everyone undergo
a truly impressive transformation.
Another big surprise was that Kodiak Thompson, who is
currently touring Taiwan with
« Jesus Christ Superstar »,
not only dropped by
the rehearsal room to visit us,
but also led the entire morning’s dance class,
he and his students enjoyed it
just as much.
Three days of high-intensity training,
filled with sincere performances and moving moments,
seeing the sparkle in
everyone’s eyes,
I felt once again that Places is truly doing something meaningful.
Thank you to Shu-wen for the introduction and assistance,
which allowed us to pull off
a wonderful cross-border collaboration in such a short time.
The professional guidance and inspiration J. Elaine brought,
along with her boundless energy, charm, and humor,
were equally uplifting.
