I’ve been a frustrated writer since I think 2015—during the time when Wattpad was still a thing.

Then in 2020, I dabbled into writing again where I actually published this novel I an rewriting online, but never got to finish it. It had 27 chapters with 70k+ reads/views.

This story have always been close to my heart. I had the notes, the critical points of the story, and even voice notes about how I imagined the flow of the narrative would be.

I don’t know, but I thought of revising the 2020 version into a more sophisticated one—driven with deep emotions that I hope everyone could relate to.

But the real question: would you be interested to read something like this?

Caraval by Stephanie Garber is absolutely a game—but one whose twists and ultimate ending you’d never see coming!

To be honest, I almost dropped this book. It wasn’t until the middle part that I got completely hooked, frantically turning pages because I had to know the real reason this whole elaborate game was set in motion.

I wouldn’t call this your typical fantasy. A lot of the story goes deep into the characters and their emotions. At its heart, it’s a story about a love that feels like magic—indescribable, spontaneous, and utterly irresistible. It also explores how love can transcend even death and the profound sacrifices one is willing to make for it.

I’ll admit I didn’t love how things started, but that’s what ultimately makes the journey beautiful. Once you finish the book, you finally understand why things were the way they were at the beginning. It makes the entire story feel more profound and complete.

I genuinely love Caraval! I know some readers didn’t connect with the characters, but honestly, I loved every single one of them. Their backstories and the pillars of their personalities were written so well—deep, emotional, and compelling.

When traveling, the typical goal is to find those picture-perfect, ‘Instagrammable’ spots. But for me, my recent trip to Taiwan was a little different.

As a designer, I found myself looking past the famous landmarks and instead, into the quiet, everyday design that makes the country tick. The way a sign is translated, how a train guides you to your stop, or how a simple handrail can organize a crowd—these were the things that truly captivated me.

It may seem a bit unusual, but looking at Taiwan through this lens gave me a deeper appreciation for its culture and people. It showed me a society that values thoughtful, human-centered solutions.

I hope you enjoy this glimpse into the small details that made a huge difference to me.

After working in the industry for over five years—and constantly battling imposter syndrome—I finally unlocked a personal milestone: earning my Specialist UX/UI Course Certificate of Completion from CIIT College of Arts and Technology.

This experience taught me so much, from technical foundations to soft skills, and truly left me feeling fulfilled 💜

Next goal: that diploma! 🎓
