There are 1 or 2 spots open in our next course, which will be held at the Raschèr Residence and the Storchenhof, both near Freiburg, Germany.
The long version of the course, April 7-April 12, will include a session on Sigurd Raschèr’s “Do You Listen”, by Carina Raschèr and a guided tour through the 150+ saxophone collection of RSQ’s Andreas van Zoelen, among many other interesting activities!

And of course, individual lessons, small ensembles, and saxophone orchestra (including contrabass saxophone!) will be a part of the course.

Some impressions from this year’s closing concert of what was already the 18th edition of the Raschèr Saxophon Akademie, organized by OBV Breisgau. Excellent job, dear participants! One highlight was certainly the performance of “Wildcat Scat” by Lance Hulme, a marvelous work for saxophone orchestra. The composer had even made his way over from the US to hear the performance, plus the we had the opportunity to work on the piece with Mr. Hulme! Now, on to the next edition! The repertoire is ready and so are we! 🎷

The Rascher Saxophone Quartet played with finesse and immaculate cohesion.
These qualities were also apparent in its encore, a take on the G minor
fugue from Book 2 of the Well-Tempered Clavier that made this most severe of
old-world fugues feel thrillingly unfamiliar.

Starting today, the animation film “Reading Between the Lines”, with the soundtrack performed by the Raschèr Saxophone Quartet, written by Andreas van Zoelen, is viewed at the prestigious filmfestival in Solothurn, Switzerland
