Halfway through this painting I was considering throwing it in the trash (the steam looked really artificial at that point).

Then I decided to give it another try, and somehow it worked out.

And then you guys just LOVED the reel ☕️✨

I wasn’t expecting this painting to resonate with so many people. Maybe it’s because we could all use a quiet moment every now and then.

Either way, seeing your comments and messages made me smile, so thank you for spending a little time in my corner of the internet 🤎

Ironically, I’m not even sure I’m 70% happy with this painting 😅 But that’s exactly why I chose it for today’s post.

I used to think that if my paintings weren’t perfect, they were a failure. Every painting had to be as close to perfect as possible. If something felt off, I’d focus on that and completely ignore everything that was working (not to mention what this did to my mood).

The problem is that when we do this, we train ourselves to notice only the flaws.

The 70% Rule is not about lowering your standards but acknowledging what’s good (while still taking note of what you’d like to improve next time).

This mindset shift helped me enjoy my art and my progress so much more.

I wrote a new blog post about it. Link in bio ✨

Atmosphere. Light. A sense of place.
Those are the things I find myself chasing most often these days ✨

I still remember how peaceful painting this sky felt ✨

Scenes like this, with dreamy sunsets and soft clouds, are probably why I fell in love with watercolor landscapes in the first place.

I think I’ll always be drawn to paintings that feel a little dreamy and cinematic, even when the subject itself is simple 🩷

This one is now also available as a fine art print in my newly opened print shop 💫

My watercolor prints shop is now live ✨

This Mist & Light collection includes some of my most loved atmospheric paintings, now available as museum-quality fine art prints on archival matte paper in A4, A3, and A2 sizes.

I spent a lot of time choosing the paper, preparing the scans and making sure the prints stay as close as possible to the feeling of the original paintings.

I feel so emotional seeing these paintings leave the studio and take on a life of their own 🤍

You can now browse the collection through the link in my bio.
