Only 1 minute of a singing bowl sound change your state!
A recent study explored a very simple question: can a short exposure to a singing bowl reduce inner arousal?
92 participants were randomly assigned to listen to one of four conditions: a singing bowl, binaural beats, pink noise, or silence. Each exposure lasted only one minute.
The result was interesting: only the singing bowl condition showed a significant reduction in subjective arousal, whereas the other three conditions had no such effect. Positive and negative emotions did not change after such a short exposure, but the feeling of inner activation became lower.
Of course, one minute is not a full healing session. The authors also suggest that deeper emotional changes may require longer intervention.
But this study beautifully supports what we as Shantika Sound Healing practitioners observe in the room: sound can meet the body quickly, before the mind has time to explain or control the process.
