We are excited to announce the Extreme Repair Lab Exhibit by starting from 29 January to 8 February.

“Extreme Repair Lab” presents work from Year 4 design students at CU INDA, applying architectural thinking to product design. The work addresses contemporary topics of sustainability, consumption and innovation through the lens of repair. Repair is proposed here as a design methodology to reimagine objects through the hybridizing of typologies and aesthetics. The designers bring maximalist formal approaches and extreme functional proposals to the otherwise very humble endeavor of repair - reconfiguring and upgrading the original product into something completely unexpected. The studio’s focus is on the objects found in domestic spaces, reimagined via extreme repair for future living scenarios. The work is carried out through phygital workflows where the designers mix 3d-scanning, digital modeling and 3d-printing with hand-craft and hand-drawing. Final outcomes are not simple repairs and restorations but new and bold objects, emerging to invite collective dreaming about yet unseen futures. The exhibit & workshops will be hosted at 965, a restored 200-year-old merchant house, which serves as a symbolic backdrop, reflecting the themes of transformation and sustainability inherent in both the space and the showcased designs. This historic venue creates an intimate setting for visitors to engage with innovative ideas while honoring the narratives embedded within its walls.

Exhibition talk: Jan 31, 7pm-8pm Workshops: Jan 31, Feb 1, Feb 7, Feb 8, 1pm-5pm

One of the biggest joys of creating 965 was discovering the plethora of Thai craftsmanship and talented designers. Starting the project allowed us to engage with both traditional and contemporary design and gain new perspectives on what a community driven retail space can look like.

Our merchant store brings together products made by Thai designers and crafts people. Allowing you to find beauty in pre-loved vintages pieces or uncover a new approach to design. We’ve aimed to reimagine and redefine what a local gift shop or souvenir store means, through thoughtful curation.

We now proudly stock over 20 Thai brands. Pop by for a stroll and pick up something for yourself or a loved one!

A little late, but here’s a recap of a very busy November. This past November, we launched our workshops and website, introduced plenty of new consignment partners to our store and finally put coffee on our menu!

Thank you to everyone in our community that joined us for the Loy Krathong and Natural Reactions workshops. We will be starting back up with the workshops again in the new year, so keep an eye out for updates on the workshops through our Instagram and website!

After three months of only have cold brew coffee on our menu, we’ve heard your requests for more coffee options. We’ve partnered with our friends — a social impact Thai coffee roaster, who work closely with individual farmers in northern Thailand to support their journey in becoming self-sustaining, increase their revenue streams, as well as elevate the quality of Thai coffee on a local and global scale. The coffee blend we use is the Sati Blend, a collaboration between and which works to improve healthcare and education for Thailand’s at-risk and underserved youth.

In our concept store, we have also added some new consignment partners to our roster! Swing by, hang out and pick up a gift for yourself or a loved one this holiday season.

On Sunday, 30 November — we will be hosting our second workshop! Natural Reactions is a workshop hosted by Sand Suwanya ( . During this workshop you will be experimenting with dying paper with natural pigments, binding your own colored notebook and experimenting with natural reactions to discover beautiful new colour combinations.

Each of these dyes contain different tannin levels and when ingredients that are acidic or alkaline are introduced, unique colour combinations are revealed.

Sand is an artist, illustrator and colorist. Having suffered from allergies to synthetic paints, Sand started experimenting with natural pigments and making her own watercolors (which we stock in our store!).

Sign up for the workshop via email, DMs or through the link in our bio.

Spots for the workshop are limited.

Loy Krathong Day is festival celebrated every full moon of the 12th month of the traditional Thai Lunar Calendar. The word “Loy” means to float and “Krathong” means a small vessel, taking roots from Old Chinese, this word can also mean ritual vessel or lamp. This year, Loy Kratong takes place on Wednesday, 5th of November.

The first records of this festival dates back to 1863. With its origins rooted in Hinduism, it was adapted by Thai Buddhists. The Krathong symbolizes letting go of the past and negativity, with people sometimes cutting fingernails or hair, placing the clippings in their Krathong. It is also a way many Thais thank the Goddess of water, the Hindu Goddess Ganga (พระแม่คงคา).

The floating away of the Krathong can represent renewal, creating space for fresh blessing in the coming year.

This cut out explaining the festival was found in an old Thai Tourist guide from the 70s.

Our Krathong Making workshop with s now fully booked! Thank you to everyone that signed up.

On a midnight stroll at Pak Khlong Talat Flower Market, just a 30 minute walk from 965 — we overheard a traveller say “this country just has an abundance of everything”.

Thailand is not just the land of smiles, it is indeed the land of abundance, an abundance in fresh produce, vibrant colours and craftsmanship. Beautiful hand work can be found on virtually every street corner.

In the month of November and December, we will be celebrating craftsmanship. We invite you to discover the beauty of traditional and contemporary craftsmanship and working with our hands. We will be announcing our workshop schedule soon, stay tuned!

Our Spiced Starfruit, probably our most unique drink and the most popular one amongst our team. Sweet starfruit is notoriously hard to find and is not a popular crop for farmers to grow these days. We source our sweet starfruit from .bkk through their partner farm in Nakhon Pathom province. The spiciness in this drink comes from our homemade spiced honey. Wild honey from is infused with chilli and black peppercorn from Trang province.

One of the most striking features of 965 is our indoor courtyard. This beautiful architectural feature helps to facilitate airflow in the space and keeping the temperature inside the home much cooler than outside.

When we first started our restoration, the courtyard was all gravel and was essentially a giant kitty litter for the neighbourhood cats. The space lacked any greenery or signs of life.

We aimed to create an urban oasis, a retreat from the concrete jungle that Bangkok can be. A beautiful green space to pass time with friends and family, where people can gather for activities, read a book, or enjoy some drinks and snacks.

The tiles we used in the space were handmade tiles from Chiang Mai and Lampang. The choice of laterite and terracotta allows us to naturally cool the home without the need for air conditioning.

Meet our neighbours — Hia Ped (เฮียเป็ด) and his siblings are the guardians of the infamous Duck & Noodles House (เป็ดตุ๋นเจ้าท่า). He took over the shop from his Ah Ma almost two years ago, as she’s now too old to walk around and is spending her retirement playing bingo and hanging out with her grandkids.

This noodle shop has a special place in our hearts for many reasons. A visit to this noodle shop in October of last year led us to find 965.

Duck & Noodles House has been in business for 60 years. Hia Ped reminisces the old days often, telling us how he used to sell almost a thousand ducks a day a decade ago.

Our Oolong Guava, one of our most popular drinks. We source our pink guava from .bkk through their partner farmers in Bang Chang or Wungnamkiew. The pink guava goes through a clarification process and is the infused with pandan and floral oolong from Doi Mae Salong in Chiang Rai. Because we source our ingredients from small scale suppliers we only have limited quantities available each day. Every batch is made intentionally with utmost care by our hardworking team everyday. The way it should be.
