How we practice our "Magic Words" at home! ✨

Concepts like "Sorry" and "Excuse me" can be really big and abstract for young minds to grasp. To make it easier, the 3D Story Builder uses intentional color coding!

Each color helps kids connect a specific feeling to a polite word long before they can actually read. By building these pieces together, we recreate scenes from the book and provide a fun, safe space to practice empathy and build their English vocabulary without any pressure 🗣️💛

Happy 1st Birthday to What Santi Forgot! 🥳💛

It has been exactly a year since Santi made his way into the world, and my heart is incredibly full of gratitude.
With my background as a self-published Filipina author based in Bangkok, I am often asked who my publisher is. The answer is proudly: me!

Every indie author represents a unique voice in children’s literature, and by supporting us, you help cultivate a society where everyone deserves to be heard and celebrated.

This past year is a pure testament to the power of books in shaping children’s identity formation, sense of belonging, and self-worth. It proved that there is a need for more spaces where children are exposed to a diverse array of literature, entailing building a collection of books that is representative of the multicultural world we live in. Moreover, in this fast paced world, we need spaces that allow children to discover the value of slowing down, exploring our thoughts, and engaging in discussion of stories familiar and new. Books play an important role in that.

“What Santi Forgot: Magic Words for Being Polite” is the product of my journey as a self-published author.

Being an independent writer allowed me to build Santi from the ground up—from writing the first word and collaborating with an illustrator to organizing community story telling sessions. The goal is to create spaces where children can discover the joy of reading and the value of stories in finding their voice. Personally speaking, this is my way of reminding everyone that even though our opportunities are varied, we can all be heard. This book is my voice out in the open, and when we open our ears to every single one’s, we give every person an equal chance to shape the great story of this world.

I have been grateful to everyone who has joined us in this journey. In my view, your support to independent authors like me helps champion a more diverse and inclusive world of storytelling.

As a teacher, I believe books do much more than just tell a wonderful tale. They are the tools our little ones use to build their identities and make sense of this big, beautiful world.

When we choose stories that celebrate cultural diversity, we give our children two incredible gifts:

How do you know if a children’s book is “the one”? 📚👀 As a teacher, I look for books that naturally spark two types of questions:

✨ Questions about what they can directly see (What color is it? What do you see in the cover?) 👀 These validate what children already know. It shows them that their knowledge matters, which is a great confidence booster!

🤔 The Not-so-obvious Questions: (Why is she sad? How did the gorilla get there?) These push them to use what they know to understand unfamiliar situations, building empathy and critical thinking.

Books that promote a habit of questioning naturally develop critical thinking skills! These are wonderful additions to your collection! 📚 🧠💛
