A distinguished piece from the collection Sateepob (Womanhood) installed in the 3rd solo exhibition at The National Gallery of Thailand (3-28 February 2019)

It was selected for a recent retrospective exhibition, Toxic Effect, at River City Bangkok.

Based on her own actual life experiences, the sculptures shed light on women struggling in a myriad of aspects. The sculptor has worked to fulfil a missing piece of her life and provided her own insights outspokenly.

Thailand's leading female sculptor Chainapa Lepajarn will display her thought-provoking sculptures during "Toxic Effect" at River City Bangkok's RCB Galleria 4, Charoen Krung 24, from Thursday to June 26.

ฉายณภา เลปาจารย์ เป็นประติมากรหญิงที่มีอยู่เพียงไม่กี่คนในเมืองไทย ซึ่งตลอดระยะเวลาหลายทศวรรษที่ผ่านมา เธอมักจะนำเสนอประเด็นการต่อสู้ของผู้หญิงในหลายแง่มุมผ่านงานประติมากรรม ซึ่งแรงบันดาลใจในการสร้างสรรค์ผลงานเหล่านี้ไม่ได้มาจากใคร นอกจากประสบการณ์ชีวิตของตัวเธอเอง ฉายณภาทำงานศิลปะเพื่อตอบสนองปูมหลังชีวิตที่ขาดหายไป และบอกเล่าความคิดและตัวตนของเธออย่างตรงไปตรงมา ซึ่งบางความคิดอาจจะไม่ได้ถูกต้องดีงามในสายตาคนทั่วไป และไม่อาจพูดออกมาได้ในชีวิตจริง เธอจึงเลือกที่จะสื่อสารผ่านงานประติมากรรมแทน

Chainapa is among the few female sculptors in Thailand. Based on actual life experiences, her sculptures are thought-provoking to shed light on woman struggling for a myriad of aspects. She has worked to fulfill a missing piece of her life and provided her own insights outspokenly. Creating a sculpture is an alternative way of expression when some thoughts might be considered inappropriate for some people, and they cannot be addressed in real life.
