Toposa Community Inaugurates Official Flag, Signaling Unity, Cultural Pride, and National Allegiance
KAPOETA, SOUTH SUDAN | JUNE 10, 2026 — Today marks a monumental and unprecedented chapter in the history of the Toposa people. In a powerful demonstration of cultural revitalization, unity, and community sovereignty, the Toposa Community Supreme Council and Executive Body officially inaugurated and hoisted the first-ever Toposa Community Flag.
The historic flag-raising ceremony was led by the speaker of the Supreme council and Chairman of the Toposa Community, Hon. Ambrose Lokonoi Lokacer, who officially hoisted the colors that will henceforth symbolize the spirit, resilience, and rich heritage of the Toposa people.
Speaking at the momentous occasion, the Speaker of the Supreme Council, H.E. Louis Lobong Lojore, delivered a stirring keynote address, commending the Executive leadership for their visionary steps in conceiving and birthing a symbol that has never existed in the history of the Toposa community.
"This flag is not just a piece of cloth; it is the embodiment of our identity, our shared history, and our collective future," stated H.E. Louis Lobong Lojore. "I call upon every son and daughter of the Toposa land to guard, respect, and protect this community flag with the same fierce loyalty and vow of patriotism that we owe to our sacred national flag."
The Speaker emphasized that the community flag stands in harmony with the national identity, serving as a pillar of local pride that strengthens the broader fabric of the nation.
Announcing the Grand Toposa Cultural Festival
In tandem with this historic milestone, H.E. Louis Lobong Lojore officially announced the upcoming Toposa Cultural Festival, scheduled to take place in the coming months.
This mega-event promises to be a grand showcase of Toposa traditional dance, music, art, and heritage—acting as a beacon for cultural preservation and regional tourism. The leadership calls upon all community members, stakeholders, and friends of the Toposa across the globe to begin mobilization and preparations for this historic gathering.
Key Pillars of Today’s Declaration:
Historical Awakening: The first official community flag in Toposa history, cementing a defined cultural legacy for generations to come.
Dual Loyalty: A sacred call to protect the Toposa flag while maintaining unwavering allegiance to the national flag of South Sudan.
Cultural Mobilization: The launch of preparations for the upcoming Toposa Cultural Festival to foster peace, unity, and cultural appreciation.
The Toposa Community Executive urges all members of the media, community elders, youth, and internal and external stakeholders to carry this message of unity forward as the community embarks on this vibrant new era of cultural renaissance.
