President Kiir, FVP Machar meeting adjourned, to meet again on later date

Much awaited meeting between President Salva Kiirand the First Vice President Dr. Riek Machar Teny has ended without agreeing on the issues at hand, a official statement from office of the president indicates.

The meeting was called after President Kiir fired Angelina Teny from Minister of Defence position and swapping the ministry to SPLM from SPLM-IO.

According to Minister of Presidential Affairs, Barnaba Marial Benjamin, the two principals have agreed to meet again on a later date to discuss the matter.

"The said the two principals discussed the status of the Revitalized Peace Agreement in regards to the recent swapping of the ministries. The leaders had frank deliberations in a friendly atmosphere that reflected the spirit of reconciliation, prosperity and commitment to the peace agreement," Marial said.

BREAKING NEWS: President Salva Kiir has relieved the Minister of Defence and Veteran Affairs Angelina Teny and the Minister of Interior Mahmoud Solomon in Republican Decrees.

President Kiir also issued a similar decree switching the Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs to the SPLM and the Ministry of Interior to the SPLM-IO.
